Loveys Actually CD Launch 2, Regent Theatre

The Regent Theatre, Murwillumbah is that beautiful, elegant old Picture Theatre in the centre of Murwillumbah . The place you used to go for movies and popcorn and ice-cream for many many years past. It has suddenly woken up after having been bought, tarted up and reopened as both a movie theatre and a venue for live performance! We were extra excited to book this venue for our launch tour… and then…as we were selling tickets, the Covid restrictions came to Murwillumbah, meaning our audience was a third of what it could have been. Nevertheless we decided to soldier on!!

We were not disappointed to welcome a very enthusiastic, dressed- up (one full Downton Abbey tails suit!!) audience. And off we went strutting our stuff, laughing and singing our way through the first half, greeted with a huge cheer as we entered the stage in our sequins for the second half, and another standing ovation after a fabulous night out with The Loveys..!!

We made many new fans and we had a wonderful evening!! What a great venue this is, tiered seating way up high, cushions in the front for lolling about on, easy interaction with the audience as they participated in parts of the show with questions, comments, laughter…even applauding Janet who had to leave the stage for a moment to retrieve her bassoon clip!!

We will definitely perform there again once the world rights itself
